About Premium Pearl
Premium Pearl was founded in San Francisco in 2003 by Iris Lee, and she still runs it today. It specializes in classic, custom and modern cultured pearl jewelry in Akoya, Hanadama, Tahitian, South Sea and freshwater pearls. Over more than twenty years, Premium Pearl has served tens of thousands of customers, combining high-quality pearls, expert advice and personal service.
About the Founder
Iris Lee is the founder and creative director of Premium Pearl. She started the company with a simple aim: to offer the most beautiful pearls at the best value.
Iris selects the pearls herself, and travels to source them, from Japan for Akoya and Hanadama pearls to French Polynesia for Tahiti's naturally black pearls and Australia for South Sea pearls. Every strand is graded under her standards before it is sold.
"Each pearl is unique, a natural work of art," Iris says. "It's important to me that I pick only the most refined ones, the ones that reflect the quality of our designs."
Iris is also the designer behind Premium Pearl's collections. In 2006, fashion stylist Lloyd Boston named a pair of her Akoya pearl earrings one of his top picks, calling them "a match made in heaven." Her Tahitian and South Sea pearl designs have been worn by the singer Fergie and the actress Tamara Braun, and Premium Pearl jewelry has appeared in Audrey Magazine, Latina, Family Circle and LA Brides. Made and Graded in San Francisco
Every piece is made in our San Francisco office and checked by our pearl specialists before it ships. Necklaces and bracelets are strung on silk and knotted between each pearl. Most of our pearls are AAA quality, and every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity that states what you are buying.
Direct from the Source
We buy pearls directly from the farms and markets where they are grown, and design and make the jewelry ourselves rather than buying finished pieces from manufacturers. That is how we keep our quality consistent and our prices fair.
